Current Projects

For 40 years Linn County Rural Water District 2 (LCRWD 2) has provided water service to about 900 rural households in southeastern Linn County.  The district serves some homes near Sugar Valley Lakes, but the distribution system does not extend to all residents around the lakes.  The district has installed a new 6-inch distribution line from Jayhawk school to the entrance of Sugar Valley Lakes on Kansas Highway 7.  This line expansion will allow LCRWD 2 to provide water to residents south of Mound City, as well as to many of the Sugar Valley Lakes residents.

Linn County Rural Water District 2 has sent letter to residents of Sugar Valley Lakes providing them the opportunity to participate in an engineering feasibility study that will address the scope and anticipated cost of improvements in providing water in that area.  A high level of participation will make the project more affordable.  LCRWD 2 is hopeful that new customers could be added at the same hook up rated currently being charged.
